Does it really matter what you believe, as long as you are sincere? Does it really matter, as long as you try to live a good life? Does it really matter, as long as you go to church somewhere? Does it really matter if you are a Christian, Muslim, Jew, Buddhist, Hindu, etc., as long as you are religious?
It has often been said, "We are all trying to get to the same place, just taking different ways". Is one way as good as another? Don't all religions ultimately lead to heaven? How important is Jesus Christ?
All of these questions are answered by one verse in the Bible.
John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth and the life; no man cometh unto the Father but by me."
By reading the verses preceeding this verse, we can see that Jesus was talking about the "way" to heaven. He did not say he was one of the ways, nor one of the truths or part of the truth nor one of the sources of life. He made it plain that no one can come to God, His Father, unless they come through Jesus and with Jesus.
Think about this: If Jesus did not tell the truth, he is not God because the Bible says "It is impossible for God to lie". Also, if Jesus lied about this, He would be a liar and a sinner and could not be our savior. Jesus told the truth.
Do you plan on going to heaven? How do you expect to get there?
